- A massive thank you to all that supported our first CPJ race for many years. It was a great success, and even the  sun shone on us all. All proceeds will go to the Essex Wildlife Trust.

Special thanks to all who baked cakes, timekeepers, manned water stations and to all who ran. Without you there would be no race. The full results can now be found on the results tab just click on 2012 and the Bluebell 5 is at the bottom.

 

- Well done to all our runners at this year's London marathon. They were, Ray, Mark, Graham, Christina, and not forgetting Clayre who ran at Brighton the week before.


- Thank you to all who came along to our 'Try Athletics Day' last Tuesday at the old fire station. It was a great success, and hopefully we shall see all the new faces becoming members of CPJ in the near future. A big thank you to Greg Deacon who stepped in at the last minute to give us a very interesting talk on sports nutrition.

- As a trial from Thursday 26th April for the next few weeks there will a meeting at John Burrows Sports Ground at 9.30am, this will give us the options of Belfairs, Havens or Great Wood also the downs and the surrounding roads. If you would like to see this become a regular meet please try and come along over the next few weeks or let me know that you are keen but unable to come.


- Castle Point are the South Essex Division 2 cross country champions after victory at Basildon in the final race of the season. Jack Fitsall claimed overall victory and was well supported by the rest of the CPJ team with Greg Deacon taking an impressive 5th place.









- AGM News. The  2011 Trophy winners were as follows, Joggers of the Year - Mandi Watts & Rick Goldsmith. Eamon Martin Trophy - Jo Fitsall & Pat Waters, John Virgo Shield - Clayre Grice & Roy Jones, All Rounder - Lisa Rieffel & Richard Bonham. Outstanding Achievement awards go to Jayne Hayward & Chris Cammidge.


- Please note club fees are now due. The new rates apply, £20 for affiliated, £15 non affiliated.


- Castle Point Joggers are pleased to announce that as from Tuesday 27th September we will be based at the old fire station in Hadleigh, and will meet at the usual time of 7.30pm. All members should have received a letter explaining the changes. Why not pop down and say hi. New members are always welcome. There is ample parking in the station yard.
