- We are now taking bookings for the annual Club Christmas Dinner and Dance at the Hollywood restaurant on December 18th at 7.30 pm. If you would like come and join in the fun the tickets are priced at £29.50 per person. I can take a deposit of £20.00 per person or if you would prefer to pay in full now that's fine. - A busy weekend saw the joggers in action at the Grays Triathlon and Thrift Green 10k at Brentwood. Peter Osborne making his Tri debut finished in a very credible 65th place out of over 200 starters. Meanwhile Richard Bonham came home in 25th at the Brentwood TGT 10K

in 39:41.

 

-The Castle Point Joggers team braved the heat on Sunday at the annual Horndon Feast & Fayre 10k.

Castle Point had 9 runners taking part as the temperature hit 31 degrees.

 

- Honours once again went to the in form Paul Jackaman in a time of 40.14 good enough for 19th place overall with teammate Richard Bonham this time only 14 seconds and one place behind in 21st .

Third Castle Point man home was Ray Selwyn in 52nd place.

First CPJ lady to finish was Lisa Rieffel fresh from her personal best at the Southend Half a couple of weeks ago.

 

- Congratulations go to Mick Staines who claimed 1st Male Vet 60 at the Felsted 5 last week in a time of 36:42.

- Great performances at Hatfield Broad Oak 10k on Bank Holiday Monday. PBs for Paul Jackaman 38.14 and Dave Miller 44.19 - Well done.

 

- Welcome to our latest club members, Rick Goldsmith ,Lisa Rieffel' Pat O Connor and Jo Ann Hamilton.

 

- Halstead Marathon results - Well done John Rickard and Dave Miller. Who finished in 4.01.37 and 4.12.10 respectively.

- I shall be starting a group for total beginners from March 30th and every Tuesday at 6.30 pm at John Burrows Sports Ground in Hadleigh. This is run in conjunction with Run in England.

The cost will be £20 a year which covers the insurance and you will receive water bottle, T shirt and a running diary to log your progress.

If you know any of your friends or family that would like to take up running get them to drop me an email to register their interest.
