The club was founded in 1975 by Alan Perkins and now boasts a membership of over 140 runners. Everyone, male or female, over the age of 17 is welcome to join us. Whether you want to use running as a means of getting fit or meeting new friends, Castle Point Joggers is the running club for you. If you are in the Benfleet, Thundersley, Hadleigh, Rayleigh or Canvey Island areas you are most welcome to come and join us.
If your new year resolution is to get fit and you want to burn off those Christmas calories then why not come along on a Tuesday evening ? We meet at 7.15pm for a 7.30 start at the old fire station every Tuesday. If you can run 2 miles without stopping you will be fine. If not then just keep an eye out for our beginners sessions that we regularly organise. The next one will be in the Spring 2016.
No one is ever left to run on their own and you will be assured of a very warm welcome.
In 2015 we celebrated our 40th birthday which makes us not only one of the friendliest clubs around, but one of the longest established too.
If you would like to find out more you are welcome to pop in and say hello on a Tuesday evening or just drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
To see details of all our sessions please see the following document - New Members Welcome Pack V5 April 2016
You can find our location on the contact page. There is also Ann’s famous post run tea, so what are you waiting for?
All new runners are encouraged to join in with whatever suits them.
If after a few outings you find you like us, then you would be invited
to become a member.
